Common questions

How often should I sealcoat my driveway or parking lot?

For most driveways, every 2 to 3 years is a good rhythm. Busy parking lots, and asphalt that bakes in full sun, may need it sooner. When the surface has gone gray and you can see the stones in it, it's time. We'll look at yours and tell you honestly if it can wait.

How long does sealcoating take to dry?

In warm, dry weather it is usually dry to walk on in a few hours. Plan on keeping cars off for about 24 hours, longer on cool or humid days. We block it off with cones and tape and tell you when it's safe to drive on.

Will I be able to get out of my driveway?

Plan to park on the street for about a day. We'll set a time that works for you before we start.

Does sealcoating make the driveway slippery?

Sealcoat has fine sand or similar material in it, and good application leaves a textured surface. Let us know if you have a steep driveway and we'll talk it through.

How much does sealcoating cost per square foot?

Sealcoating is priced by the square foot, and the rate depends on the size of the area, how many cracks need filling, the condition of the surface and how easy it is to get to. Larger areas usually cost less per square foot. We don't publish a flat rate because every surface is different. Call (304) 997-7253 for a free estimate.
